Bleeding Snowflake

I love this photo as well.

This is a beautiful capture. While it is true that there are many micro photographers that try to capture snowflakes, a good shot is a good shot.

There is little I need to say about the focus and clarity of the picture. It is very well defined and the detail and beauty of the snowflakes does come through. What is more beautiful however is the background - the red hue that overlaps with white at places. That is a beautiful combination and the melting of a snowflake on red makes it look like it is dissolving into blood or something with a deeper meaning.

Over all - the simplicity of the photo, the title/concept and the beauty and detail of the capture are amazing. Originality is something that is scarce to find when it comes to ideas like these but still an amazing shot.
