Short UpdateHello Everybody
I hope all of you are doing well ?
This is just a short update to let all of you know that i am still alive.
I had my final exams a few weeks ago and all in all it went pretty well.
( i still have to take two oral examinations and i am kinda afraid of that but hopefully they will be okay as well )
Since i had to study quite a bit i wasn't able to take as many photos.
( moreover i am one of these people that are pretty unmotivted in general in winter )
I am so happy that it is starting to get warm now and that there are flowers everywhere.
When i am done with school i will have about 3 month of freetime until i am going to start studying in a university in october.
( for me it is a really weird thought that i will be living on my own in about half a year from now )
But since i am going to study a subject where i can take photography classes i hope that i will also improve my skills in photography !
Oh and tha
Happy New Year !
I really hope that you have spent a nice New Year's Eve
and that all of you gonna have an awesome 2014 ♥
( i filmed some heart firework for you )
I am really sorry that i don't spend that much time on DeviantArt anymore
Even thought i upload some photos once in a while i am not active at all.
( writing journals, features, polls, commenting aso. )
And to be honest i don't really know why, it's not that i am that busy or anything.
I guess it mostely is because of the fact that i am really uncreative at the moment.... but i am trying to change that !
The last year was awesome photography wise, i spent so much time taking photos and really enjoyed it ♥
Concearning real life it was a really boring year, nothing special happened at all, life just went on as usual.
Next year will be different, i will take my exams and finish school !
That's a huge step for me since i will go to an university af
Shaped Bokeh ( Tutorials and Feature )Since i got asked a lot how i do the shaped bokeh photos i decided to write a short journal about it
I won't write my own tutorial since there are already a lot of great tutorials out there and i do the absolutely same thing
First some "normal bokeh" tutorials :
and the Wiki Article : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bokeh
most important facts :
- aperature as big as possible -> small number ( i use the canon 50mm 1.8 )
- some sort of light to create visible bokeh ( e.g. christ

3000+ Watchers : Thank you / Free PS ActionsWhen i checked my Stats yesterday and noticed that i already got past 3000 watchers !
I am so grateful to every person that even views my works and of course i am even happier if they appreciate them.
I know that i am really inactive in things like answering comments, notes and taking the time to appreciate the work of others.
But please don't think i am ungrateful for all of that, because that's really not the case.
On the contrary, your compliments really encourage me and make me smile !
I am kind of trying to figure out what i want to do with my life after i finished school and of course i have to get good marks to
leave as many options open as possible. I hope you do understand that.
I am still taking photos ( which you probably know ), since it's a important time for me to just take my dog and
go for a long walk searching for pretty flowers or ladybugs or just sit in my room for hours trying to take pretty photos.
Unfortunately all the things around it, like answering comm

You CAN Do It Too! Commissions, Exposure, and...
Do you feel like no one cares about your artwork? That no matter how hard you try, you'll never improve? Well, I've been there before.
A little less than a year ago, I didn't even have 100 watchers. It was tough trying to find commissions, even though I priced them around 10 - 100 an hour. Sure, I had some wonderful people supporting me (thank you very much for that!), but when I looked at the thousands of diehard fans the "popular" artists had, I felt kinda useless. It seemed like even a thousand watchers, or just being able to earn minimum wage was impossible. Sometimes I wanted to cry from all the effort I put in. I kept drawing and drawing but barely improving. I was frustrated and felt useless. But instead of giving up, I pushed myself even harder, and by God's grace it's starting to work out for me.
I now have over 16,000 amazing people encouraging me, and I know it's only a matter of tim
No more excuses, it's time to improve your art! You’re probably well acquainted with the old proverb “practice makes perfect.” And while I don’t fully believe that perfection is attainable, because the very notion of perfection is somewhat subjective, getting better at anything requires both time and effort. I’m going be very blunt here; if you want to improve your artistic skill you need to actually practice.
My heart goes out to everyone here who is struggling to improve so don’t feel that I’m purposely singling you out here. However throughout my time on dA (and in real life) I’ve met artists begging for advice on how to quickly improve and sadly when I tell them to begin practicing the excuse is always ‘well, I don’t really have the time for that.’
And I ain’t got time for yo attitude.
You do have the time

Basic CSS Style GuideIntroduction
CSS is a style language used to define the style and formatting of web pages. It is used in conjunction with HTML.
If we think of HTML as the building blocks of the web then, essentially, CSS is the painter and decorator. Very simply, HTML defines the structure of the page and CSS defines the style.
What I'll be helping you with here is getting to grips with the basics of CSS. I'll be explaining how use CSS as well as providing a number of examples that you can use to style your own web pages and journals. All you need to do is copy/paste the code and replace the sample text with your own content. Along with the quick reference I've also written a brief glossary of terms and provided a list of useful links in case you wish to do some further reading.
A point of note is that while the information and examples I've given here apply to CSS use anywhere on the web, this guide itself is geared towards the use of CSS on deviantART. As such, and given that this h

JULY Challenge WATER vote and win points:icontransparentplz:
All works here
This is the new way to find our winner of our monthly challenge: instead using a Poll with the ten most voted of the period, we'll be using a blog to showcase the 20 MOST VOTED on this theme!
This means, or so I hope, more exposure for your pieces and galleries.
The idea is simple: each work has a number and all deviants have the opportunity to vote like if it was a poll...with the difference that you will choose not one but 3 favourites!
All deviants may vote, INCLUSIVE who is participating; the participants may vote for themselves and ask friends and watchers to vote; this blog may have publicity by all means and be submitted in groups.
The work with most votes wins 130 points;
the second place wins 80, the 3rd place wins 50 and the 4th wins 25 .
These prizes c

Manip AcademyIntroducing a new project!
Manip Academy (thanks, cristii, for inspiration for the name) is a new photomanipulation project inspired by projecteducate. We all love to learn, and we learn best from one another. Here's our chance to share what we know.
Manip Academy is an education initiative designed to spread the knowledge and the love. It is a collaboration between CRPhotomanipulation and we-HEART-photomanip. We will share tips and tricks for photomanipulation success. It is difficult to write tutorials, but anyone can write a simple tip or describe how they achieved a specific effect.
This project will feature two weekly articles written by the community every week, on Mondays and Thursdays. This will be an ongoing project within our community, and we hope that many people will take advantage of the chance to sign up to submit one blog or even just a few sentences to help the community.

The Coffee GodThe Coffee God behind the counter shuffles foot to foot, a dance of steam and espresso. Black painted fingernails, inch gauged ears and a gray striped sweatshirt, hood crooked on his back. There's a cigarette tucked behind one ear; it bobs and twitches with each step.
“Non-fat caramel latte,” he calls, just as he always does, part of a spell, part of a mantra, toneless (just a tuck at the end). I reach. He looks up.
The espresso maker hisses.
There's something like a grin, something like a spark, something like a shared secret linked eye to eye. When he passes over the drink (rough cardboard sleeve hot to the touch), he lingers. Our fingers brush, a shiver, a jolt, a ten-watt shock.
The Coffee God tilts his chin, shouts, “Hey, mind if I take my break now?”
and ducks around the counter without waiting for a reply.
He slips his cigarette between his lips without taking his eyes from mine. I follow him out the door.
Keep in Touch!
