Making a really good Journal feature can involve a lot of time and work - planning, collecting artwork, arranging the artwork in a Journal, publication, and promotion. Taking these steps instead of merely dragging in thumbs from your Favourites will result in an appealing and rewarding Journal feature. Back to Basics Photography - Understanding RawdSLR cameras and most bridge cameras have the option to shoot in raw, but what exactly is it and what are the benefits? Let me attempt to explain.
A camera raw file contains all the data that is captured when the shutter button is pressed whereas a JPEG is compressed and a lot of the data is lost. They are often called digital negatives as they serve the same purpose as the negatives in film photography; they are not ready to be used as the final image, but hold all the information and data needed to produce one. This all means that you are left with a higher image quality which also allows you to have more control and manipulate more parameters than a JPEG. All of the metadata is also still in tact, meaning that the original state can always be referred back to if needed.

The Literature Community ExperimentThis is a typical example of a ^Beccalicious shower pondering! The idea of this is to try and bring together as many people as possible all in one journal, but not for the sake of making a big number, but to encourage interaction and share useful tidbits. Why you feature stolen work?!?!Lately there seem to have been a few myths flying around in particular with regards to how we as Community Volunteers, give Daily Deviations. Many people seem to think that we sit at our desks in dark little rooms and let out evil laughter whilst we purposefully feature stolen work. The dark rooms and laughter - well I can't say yes or no on that one! But I can promise you it's not our intent to give exposure to people who have stolen work. I recently featured a piece of work that turned out to be stolen. However I went into extensive conversations with the artist before I featured it, and with added metadata and dates, it's difficult to know where to draw the line. I've given people the benefit of the doubt before - and it's worked out nicely as their work has been legitimate. Below are some comments I have seen being thrown around the past few days - and hopefully an attempt to bust the myth.

this journal, so that a lot of people can read it.

I noticed that a lot of people don't know how to search for their photos on the internet, so here is a short tutorial. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about art thieves, but i still think it is important to look out for them.

1. visit Google.com

2. Go to the page of the photo you want to search and click "show image"

3. Copy the Link and paste it into google.

4. This page should open, click "search by image".

5. Now you can browse trough the results.

6. The less results the happier you should be.

EDIT : You can also use websites like : tineye.com and iqdb.com
This was pointed out to me by some people, personally i have no experience with them, but i am sure that they work too.

You should see a logo of a camera in the right of the search box.
Click on it and attach the photo you want to find.
